India is making significant strides in the fields of semiconductors, AI, mobility, and edge appliances, with substantial investments flowing into these sectors. Gautam Adani, the Founder of the Adani Group, recently had a productive meeting with the CEO of Qualcomm and his leadership team. Adani expressed enthusiasm about Qualcomm's vision for various markets, including semiconductors, AI, mobility, and edge appliances. He highlighted the exciting plans and commitment of Qualcomm's leadership to harness India's potential in these cutting-edge technologies.
India's semiconductor journey is gaining momentum, with a groundbreaking ceremony for three new semiconductor projects valued at $15.14 billion, including two from the Tata Group. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved these projects, expected to generate 20,000 direct jobs and nearly 60,000 indirect jobs in the advanced technology sector.
To bolster the vision of 'Making AI in India' and 'Making AI Work for India,' the Union Cabinet approved the IndiaAI Mission with a budget of Rs 10,371.92 crore. This comprehensive national-level initiative aims to advance artificial intelligence technologies, signaling a significant step towards technological self-sufficiency.
In the realm of mobility, where the demand for high-end chips in next-gen vehicles is rising, the Adani Group and Uber are reportedly on the verge of announcing a joint venture. This collaboration aims to support Uber's global expansion of a fleet running on alternative and renewable energy, aligning with the Indian government's green energy objectives. The Adani Group is also exploring partnerships with major Indian vehicle manufacturers to further contribute to the growth of the sector.
